Dear CI-ADE Members,
I would like to share with you a plan for the total restructuring of the state AADE chapters nationwide, beginning first in California. Our chapter representatives, Debbie Gibson, RD, CDE, and Kimberley Yorke, RN, CDE, and both CI-ADE Past-Presidents, will return from a meeting in Sacramento March 6th with national AADE and representatives from the 12 California AADE local chapters. Once that meeting has taken place, we will have a better idea of how the changes will affect us as we transition from a local chapter to various LNGs (Local Networking Groups) under the supervision of the California statewide Coordinating Body (CB) being appointed by national AADE. I will send out a follow-up communication after this meeting as we learn more about this significant change in the structure of AADE. The following is a statement from one of the CA chapter presidents summing up what will be taking place in the near future.
"There are changes that are currently taking place between national AADE and the local chapters. There will be more information forthcoming as the changes take place. The California local chapter leadership will be meeting with national AADE representatives in Sacramento on Saturday March 6th to discuss how the transition will roll out. Essentially, national AADE is making (mandatory) changes that will impact us and hopefully be positive. We will have a more centralized online portal that will increase communication opportunities & more closely link the state, local and national membership, as I understand it.
We will schedule a general meeting to provide specific details once more is known about how this impacts us at our state and local level. One very positive aspect is that California has a lot of strong leadership who are actively involved in this whole process and who are working for us on a state, local and individual membership level."
Thank you,
Sydney Bush, BSN, RN, CDE
President, CI-ADE
